Dr. Bijoy K. Khandheria graduated from the University of Baroda, Baroda, India.  He completed his residency at Shree Sayaji General Hospital, Baroda, India, Saint Agnes Medical Center, Philadelphia, and Hahnemann University in Philadelphia where he received the Resident of the Year award. Currently, he is the Chair of the Division of Cardiovascular Disease at Mayo Clinic, Arizona. He is also the professor of medicine at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and serves as a Consultant for the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases and Internal Medicine, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.

Dr. Khandheria served as the 16th president of the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), of which he has been a member of since 1987. Dr. Khandheria has also served as an associate editor for the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography. In addition, Dr. Khandheria has authored and co-authored over 150 articles and edited two books on echocardiography.

Dr. Khandheria was honored as the Navin Nanda lecturer by the Indian Academy of Echocardiography.

Pamela Burgess, BS, RCDS, RDMS, RVT, FASE is currently Manager of Cardiac Ultrasound and Stress Testing Lab at Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  She has over 25 years experience as a sonographer, with the past 15 years specialzing as a cardiac and vascular sonographer.  Pamela has experience in all aspects of cardiac ultrasound including transesophageal, exercise, dobutamine, 3D, strain rate and contrast.  Pamela has 15 years experience as a Course Coordinator and Sonographer Instructor for the Echocardiography course at Wake Forest University School of Medicine

Pamela received her Bachelor of Science in Health Management from the California College for Health Sciences, California.  Additionally, Pamela has earned Associate Degrees in Applied Science in Cardiovascular Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine Technology from Forsyth Technical Community College Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Pamela has been a guest speaker and director at numerous echocardiography courses across the country. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE).

Rick Rigling Rick Rigling, BS, RDCS, FASE

Rick Rigling currently serves as the Administrative Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology for the Regional Heart and Vascular Center at Danbury Health Systems. Mr. Rigling is an active cardiac sonographer performing echocardiography in several laboratories. He is a consultant and speaker for a number of cardiovascular medicine companies. An active member of the American Society of Echocardiography, Rick currently serves as the chair of the Council on Cardiac Sonography, a member of the Board of Directors, a member of the Information Technology/Web committee, and the chair of the Advanced Cardiac Sonographer taskforce. His expertise and focus in the field is on practical operational applications of cardiac sonography and instituting quality measures into daily practice. Mr. Rigling applies this focus in his role as secretary on the Board of Directors of the Intersocietal Commision on the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories.
