Christopher R. Friese, RN, PhD, AOCN® is currently research fellow at the Center for Outcomes and Policy Research and Associate Clinical Scientist at the Phyllis F. Cantor Center for Research in Nursing and Patient Care Services at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. He is also a fellow in Cancer Prevention and Control at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Friese conducts research on outcomes of care for patients with cancer, and organizational factors associated with quality of care. He is principal investigator of the Oncology Nursing Society Foundationfunded study Neutropenia Outcomes: Nurse Staffing and Practice Environment Effects. He has received research funding from the National Institute of Nursing Research, the American Cancer Society, and the Oncology Nursing Society. He completed his bachelor, masters, and doctoral degrees at the University of Pennsylvania. He serves on the advisory board of the doctoral program in nursing, cancer, and health disparities at the University of Massachusetts-Boston.
Dr. Friese received a Young Investigator award from the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer in 2005 and a Merit Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology in 2006. He lectures nationally and internationally on the topic of supportive care in cancer. His research findings have been published in Nursing Research, Oncology Nursing Forum, and the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing. He is research consultant and co-author of the Oncology Nursing Society’s Putting Evidence Into Practice: Evidence Based Summary for the Prevention of Infection. He has practiced in some of the nation’s leading cancer centers, including the Kimmel Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania, and the Fox Chase Cancer Center. Dr. Friese remains an active nurse clinician in the hematologic malignancies/bone marrow transplant setting.

Joan Giblin is a Nurse Practitioner at the Winship Cancer Institute. She have been a nurse for 35 years and a Nurse Practitioner for 20 years. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Joan is also an adjunct professor at Emory Nell Hodgson School of Nursing, Chairman at the WCI Nursing research council and coordinator of the Aero digestive Team.

Rebecca B. Donohue, MSN, RNCS, FNP, AOCN®, APNG

Ms. Donohue has been employed as an Oncology Nurse Practitioner with Acadiana Medical Oncology in Lafayette, Louisiana for 6 years. She works with 2 oncologists, Dr. Paulette Blanchet and Dr. Victoria Panelli, in a community practice setting. Prior to working as an NP Rebecca was employed on both the oncology floor and the outpatient infusion area of Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Lafayette as an oncology staff RN.
Ms. Donohue received her BSN from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1996, and her MSN from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette in 2000. She is currently pursuing a PhD in nursing research focusing in oncology at the University of Utah. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner; she is an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse and is certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Genetics. Rebecca is licensed by the state of Louisiana as an APRN with limited prescriptive authority.
Ms. Donohue is a national speaker presenting on a variety of topics including neutropenia, anemia, diarrhea, colon cancer, breast cancer, etc. She has developed and implemented supportive care and disease management guidelines and assessment tools in her practice. Ms. Donohue validated the use of the neutropenia risk assessment tool that she developed and presented this data at a poster presentation at ONS Congress in 2004. The manuscript of the study validating the use of the neutropenia risk assessment tool is scheduled for publication in the March of 2006 issue of Oncology Nursing Forum.

Anne Doyle, RN, MSN

Anne Doyle has 27 years of nursing experience, 26 in oncology nursing. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. Anne went on to complete her Masters in nursing at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. Anne has held a variety of oncology nursing positions including case manager, hospital and clinic staff nurse, chemotherapy nurse, oncology nurse coordinator, and hospice/palliative care coordinator.
Anne presented a poster at the 2006 ONS meeting. In addition, she has published a manuscript in the special nursing edition of Oncology September 2006.
